What is the PAC process?

Referrals are submitted by the student's teacher.  Parents are then contacted to attend an upcoming PAC meeting.  A meeting is held with team members including the teacher, principal, guidance counselor, child study team representative other identified school professionals, and the parent(s).   During the meeting the parent(s) and teacher are asked to share concerns.  After identifying specific concerns the team suggests recommendations (e.g., peer buddy, homework club, BSI reading, guidance counseling, tutoring, referrals, etc.) that may help alleviate concerns.  An Intervention Plan is developed and shared with all team members.  A follow up consultation and/ or meeting is scheduled if the student continues to experience difficulties.
